This week we learn about deviance in class it sound like awkward but this is one word describe as a lot of things. Most of the time when people think of deviance, they associate it with negative behavior, but that doesn't always have to be true. Deviance simply means doing something that violates the norms. Deviance in a sociological context describes actions or behaviors that violate culture norms including formally-enacted rules as well as informal violations of social norms. Norms are the specific behavioral standards, ways in which people are supposed to act, paradigms for predictable behavior in society. They are not necessarily moral, or even grounded in morality; in fact, they are just as often pragmatic and, paradoxically, irrational. This week since we learning about deviance we did one experiment for me was amazing because I work in subway during sat. and sun. During Sunday my owner tell me to do some work after she goes. She told me about what is work for new employee from tomorrow like we hire one new girl so she was telling me about it. After she lives I did all my work and I did all work for new girl who was coming tomorrow and she do not know me and anything. I did all work for her after I finish my work and did not take time off. I want to do something good about someone. So, on Monday, my owner call me and tell me you never do extra why did you do that and stuff. I say I just want to do at for her because she is new and may be she do not know how to do it. She was surprised and tells me thank you. She said did you do this work purposely and I said I just did because I like to some work, and I do not want to sit around for hours. The new girl was so happy because she do not have to do anything on her second day of the job. She don't know me either. May be I will tell her that I did that for you. This was kind of positive deviance because of doing something good about someone that they do not know us. I feel very proud of my self that I did something good for someone without know her.
